MUNDY A WORTHY TIME CHAMPION AT KILKENNY

MUNDY A WORTHY TIME CHAMPION AT KILKENNY

Lemon Mundy was a brilliant winner of the TIME Greyhound Nutrition A3 at Kilkenny on Friday night, racing clear of his rivals once going to the front to emerge a facile scorer.

His task was aided somewhat with his fellow early pacer Long Senorita missing the start from the inside box. That left Lemon Mundy with the room to edge across at his pleasure into the turn before asserting.

Birchfield Pa was his nearest challenger into the turn but really had no answer to Lemon Mundy, who shot clear down the back straight. Owned jointly by Tom Lennon and Michael Kennedy, Lemon Mundy, who was sent off the 2-1 joint favourite, really did look a class apart.

Going six lengths clear into the third turn, the son of Ballymac Bolger and Lemon Phoebe was relentless for the remainder of the journey before emerging a seven-length scorer over Birchfield Pa in 28.96. Doggie Brasco, the other joint favourite, was best of the remainder, recovering from opening bend traffic to finish four lengths further back in third.
