NEW PICK 5 JACKPOT INTRODUCED AT SHELBOURNE

The Pick 4 Jackpot has a long history at Shelbourne Park, both in its previous guise as the Twin Double Jackpot and the Pick 4, but it will have its last hurrah this week with a new Pick 5 Jackpot being introduced to replace its little brother.

Thursday’s Pick 4 Jackpot has been confirmed to be the last, subject to it being won on the night.

Last Saturday’s Pick 4 Jackpot wasn’t won which means Thursday’s Jackpot will boast a guaranteed pool of €1,000 so get studying.

That means that the Pick 5 will be introduced with a bang on Friday night for the first session of opening round heats of the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby. That first Pick 5 Jackpot will boast a guaranteed pool of €500. Incidentally, the new jackpot is set to be run over races 4-8.

Given the fact it will be more difficult to win, it is hoped there will be bigger carryovers and perhaps generate more interest in the jackpots which were once a big part of the tote model.
