DANNY CORKERY MEMORIAL LAUNCHED IN CURRAHEEN PARK

A great friend of Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium will be remembered in an upcoming competition, with the Danny Corkery Memorial set to take place on the track in Cork this November. Offering an impressive €5,000 to the winner, the competition is sure to attract great interest. Danny’s wife Ellen proudly launched the competition in memory of her late husband at Curraheen Park this week.

The Danny Corkery Memorial will run over 525yds and is open to A3/A4 for greyhounds who have never bettered A1grade. There will also be an interesting time restriction placed on the competing Greyhounds, and any who break 28.70 in the opening round will be eliminated.

The racing office in Curraheen Park are now accepting entries for the competition which is expected to get underway on Friday 7th November with the Final scheduled for Saturday 22nd November.

Dates:

  • 1st Round: Friday 7th November
  • Semi-Finals: Friday 14th November
  • Final: Saturday 22nd November

Entries close Monday 3rd November.
