GLENGAR AGAIN FASTEST IN KILTREA KENNELS UNRACED

GLENGAR AGAIN FASTEST IN KILTREA KENNELS UNRACED

Ian Fortune

The Pat Buckley trained Glengar Star rode her luck a little but still managed to win by a country mile, setting the standard in the process, in the second round of the Kiltrea Kennels Open Unraced Stake at Enniscorthy.

A winner in 28.98 seven days earlier, she posted an identical time in the opening second round heat when left in front at the opening turn. Once going to the front, Emma Buckley’s daughter of Droopys Sydney and Singalong Sally quickly put the result beyond any doubt.

Avoiding traffic that seemed to affect each of the remaining runners, she raced further and further clear to eventually emerge a nineteen-length winner. Tagalong Zuma came second with three lengths to Faraway Downs in third.

HOLLY NEXT FASTEST

The two remaining heats were also very messy.

Ballybreen Holly was next fastest in the third heat when staying on well to pick up Saunders Duke. John O’Connor and John O’Leary’s daughter of Ballymac Best and Mrs Boss moved second at the turn despite taking a bump and reeled in Saunders Duke on the run in to win by three parts of a length in 29.47. There was six and a half lengths to Taylorstown Jim in third.

MAX TAKES HIS CHANCE DESPITE TRAFFIC

Elite Max four plenty of traffic for the second week running but would emerge on top in Heat 2 for Myles Roban.

The son of Grangeview Ten and Slippy Articfire would lead into the third turn to beat Ballybreen Zeta by two and a half lengths in 30.02.
