KILKENNY LOOKING SPLENDID WITH OPENING ON THE HORIZON

We gave an update on Kilkenny track a few weeks and highlighted how everything was going splendidly with the rebuild.

Thankfully, nothing has changed as regards deadlines and progress with the project moving at pace ahead of a soft opening a few weeks from now.

Of course, there is no official opening date as yet with no way to confirm when all the paperwork will be signed but those involved in the track are confident there won’t be any holdup.

Speaking on Tuesday morning, Kilkenny track manager Tom Kinane was delighted with how everything has gone and was quick to heap praise on the many people involved in the project. Said Tom, “It’s looking great. Everyone involved has been brilliant and we’re looking forward to a soft opening in a few weeks. We don’t have a date yet; that depends on getting all the paperwork signed off but we don’t foresee any problems.

“The plan is to move the old bar into the new stand and then do a full refurb on the old bar. Going forward that is likely to be the café but that’s a bit up in the air at the moment.

“The official opening will be late this year or early next year but we can’t wait. We just want to show off the place to as many as we can. That’s why I put the video up on the Facebook page. It has been greatly received.”

The video in question is well worth a look. It can be viewed on the Kilkenny Track Facebook Page or embedded below. The place certainly looks great and I know this scribe is one of just one of many thousands of people that are looking forward to visiting the track when the work is completed. Best of luck to all involved at the track.
