While glancing through twitter on Thursday afternoon, I happened upon a tweet from Harry Findlay and, for those who can’t wait to see racing back at Lifford, it was all good news.
Said Harry on the social media platform, “Lifford passed the GRI inspection with flying colours. All nine trials went perfectly and all roads lead to our big opening in the Spring!”
Indeed, it seems it is now full steam ahead and, while it is reopening later than planned, the news will come as a real shot in the arm to those involved in the sport in the north west and the wider greyhound racing community.
Paul Lawrence, in response to Harry’s tweet, replied with a picture of the home straight and main stand and it’s difficult to spot a blade of grass out of place or a flaw in the paintwork. In truth, the place looks immaculate and it’s a real credit to those involved in the famous venue. Bring on the spring.
