KINDLING BURNS BRIGHT AT KILKENNY

Mister Kindling was the undoubted star of Friday’s action at Kilkenny as he posted a rapid 28.86 to set the standard in the second round of the valuable Kilkenny Track A3 525.

Owned by the Don’t Know Syndicate, the son of Bull Run Bolt and Emers Break flashed from traps in the final heat to make every inch, eventually coming home two lengths clear of Graigues Bubbly.

SNOW NEXT FASTEST

Ballintee Snow doubled his career tally in Heat 2 to go next fastest.

The Murt Leahy trained son of Burgess Bucks and Ballintee Flare was prominent from the outset before moving to the front down the back straight.

Once doing so, the December ’20 whelp, who is owned by the Noshow Syndicate, eased on to see off Daring Tego by two lengths in 29.00.

BRIDGE RECOVERS FROM TARDY START

John Mackey was on the mark in the opening heat as Foyle Bridge recovered from a slow start to lead into the third turn.

Only fifth to the corner, he stayed tight to the fence to dispute the lead with the favourite Short Notice down the back straight.

Getting the better of his rival into the third turn, Foyle Bridge stayed on well to cross the line with a length in hand in 29.17.   

BOY STAYS ON BEST

The remaining heat saw Vicarshill Boy come out on top for Damien O’Connell and Thomas Leahy.

The son of Dorotas Wildcat and Birchfield Act was always to the fore, leading off the second turn before repelling the challenge of Count Aurelius at the third bend. From there he ran on strongly to score by three and a half length in 29.25.
