Pat and Alan Dobbs will be delighted with the progress of their latest recruit Up In Style as she posted a rapid 28.49 at Newbridge on Friday night in the semi-finals of the RCÉ ON2/ON3 525.

The well-bred daughter of Pestana and Unlock Unlock set the standard a week earlier, recording 28.53 on debut and she went even faster seven days on.

The 1-8 favourite faced just two rivals and she duly saw them off with minimum fuss, breaking fast to make every inch in an eight and a half length victory. The Robert Gleeson trained youngster is clearly on an upward trajectory and is one to keep an eye on in the coming months.

For the record, the other heat saw Lets Inspire emerge a length and a half winner in 29.50. All evidence would suggest that Up In Style will start a red-hot favourite for next weekend’s decider before going on to bigger and better things.
