Barry Drake
Trained by John Linehan for owner Barry Rocks, Eazy Razzle (Droopys Sydney-Ragaire) ran out a fantastic winner of the €7,500 to the winner Dave Collins Memorial Munster Oaks Final at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night.
Such a big eye-catcher in recent weeks, Eazy Razzle produced her best start on the night that mattered and once she slipped around in front, it was always going to take something special to turn her over. Role Model gave the winner plenty to think about for most of the journey, however, Eazy Razzle had far too much power turning for home and the classy and powerful winner pulled four lengths clear, clocking a top-class 28.11. It was a performance of the highest order from Eazy Razzle who was sent off at a very generous 7-2. Glengar Martha got third, three lengths behind Role Model.
A YOUNGSTER GOING PLACES - CAREFREE CHARM
Carefree Charm (Droopys Sydney-Carefree Tipp) caught the eye with a powerful winning performance in the final of the €2,000 to the winner Casey's Camping & Caravan ON1 Stake.
After a poor start, the 5-2 shot was out the back and the March puppy looked in serious trouble as Bogger The Kid was setting the early pace. Showing massive pace on the back straight, Carefree Charm, for Bernie Connolly, was within about five lengths at halfway and it was still Bogger The Kid in front with Droopys Journey in close pursuit. It all changed in a couple of strides as the winner was showing huge gears and she quickly took over at the head of affairs. A fantastic winning display from the youngster who looks like a rapidly improving type and in the end, Carefree Star was a length and a half clear of Droopys Journey, with a neck back to the early leader in third place.
