The news came through in recent days that Jetara has been purchased by leading owners Brendan Keogh and Simon Senyk and has joined Ian Reilly with an Irish campaign in mind.
Reilly confirmed the news saying, “He’s a really nice dog and he seems to be settling in fine. We’ll take our time with him and let him tell us when he’s ready. At the moment there is no real plan but, obviously, we’ll be looking towards the Winter Racing Festival.”
Jetara is, of course, a half brother to form Oaks, Derby and Easter Cup champion Susie Sapphire, while his litter brother Deadly Jet is a semi-finalist in the Time Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile Derby on Saturday.
Jetara first came to prominence in the Denis Linehan Solicitors Open Unraced at Curraheen Park, showing exceptional pace through the prelims before running out of luck in the decider. He also performed well in the early rounds of the Derby and looks an exciting prospect for 2024. We wish his new connections the best of luck with the son of Droopys Sydney and Jetstream Lynx in the future.
