Last Saturday, 28th September, saw Limerick Greyhound Stadium host a very popular sales auction which saw Rosshill Glory top the market as he fetched a handsome €5,600.
Indeed, it didn’t take long for sales action to heat up as Rosshill Glory flew around in the very first trial of the day. Romping to an eight length victory, the July 23’ son of Grangeview Ten and Glory Razl stopped the clock in a brisk 28.93. Given this tracker is a mere puppy at just fourteen months, it wasn’t surprising that he fetched €5,600 and it would be wise to keep an eye on this prospect going forward.
Next best in terms of price was a hugely impressive Catch The Wind, who scorched around the Dock Road circuit to post a majestic 28.56. Hailing from Derby winning sire Good News and Miss Joss, who won the 2021 Christmas Oaks, it wasn’t surprising that the November pup attracted big interest and he was eventually sold for a tidy €5,400.
Lot 9 saw Moanduff Bolger fall short by just two lengths in his sale trial, however, he
still posted a fine 29.39 estimate, showing super dash in the process. Just an April 23’ son of Ballymac Bolger and Dapper Jess, the market was hot for this young talent and he was sold for a good €3,000. Incidentally, Lightfoot Harry, who won the trial, was sold for €1,450.
Our Dog Aki came to Limerick Sales as a seasoned performer having already posted a smart victory at Cork in 29.11 .30s. On the day however, the September 22’ son of Dorotas Wildcat and Rising Diamond took off to win by over eleven lengths. The time was a smart 28.93 and the hammer dropped at €2,700.
Lightfoot Roger (Ice On Fire - Lightfoot Marie) tipped the scales at a massive 86-pound and despite fluffing his lines at traprise, was very impressive in displaying big gears down the back to win his trial by three lengths in 29.74. Just a February pup, given his size he is sure to improve and looks a real bargain after being sold for just €2,000.
Lot 15 saw Carrigoon Wes (Coolavanny Hoffa - Carrigoon Ava) build on his impressive 29.11 race win at Cork last time out with another polished trial performance. Making every yard, the February 23’ whelp saw off Lightfoot Tina by four and a half lengths, in 29.20. As a result, he attracted good interest and was sold for €1,900.
On the ladies front, Shivery Pants won on debut at Tralee when posting 17.99 for the sprint trip, however, she showed she is just as effective over four bends as she skipped to a nine and a half length trial win on the day. Stopping the clock in a brisk 29.04, the daughter of Droopys Sydney and Miss Pickpocket was sold for €1,450.
Lot 34 was a striking fawn runner in Chevals Son, who won his most recent race around Limerick just a couple of weeks prior in 29.32. As a result, it wasn’t surprising to see him take charge at the penultimate turn before staying on stoutly to win in 29.57. Given the manner of his victory, the September 22’ son of Ballymac Anton also fetched a good €1,450.
Collakilla Fun had posted a slick 29.09 estimate around Limerick in her last race and despite checking on the run-up in her trial, she recovered brilliantly to post a smart 29.20 clock. A June 22’ daughter of Droopys Sydney and Collacilla, she was sold for €1,400.
