Greyhound racing lost another real gentleman in recent days with the news of the passing of Brendan Duffy, Co. Derry.
Brendan was a huge supporter of both track and field in the North of Ireland and will be fondly remembered by all of his friends within the industry, but especially those hailing from Derry and Lifford, which are two tracks that Brendan supported greatly over the decades.
Brendan ran his dogs under the ‘Central’ prefix and he had many top stars over the years, so much so that there are too many to mention. However, Central City is the obvious standout given he landed the 2011 BoyleSports Coursing Derby at Powerstown Park when seeing off Kyle Ranger. Indeed, this would have been the crowning glory for Brendan given his massive enthusiasm for coursing and Central City went on to prove a success at stud in both track and field.
A man that will be sorely missed by all those that crossed his path, condolences are extended to Brendan’s Family and friends.
May he rest in Peace.
