The semi finals of the Construction Man’s A3 525 served as the highlight at Galway Greyhound Stadium on Friday night and there was a terrific performance from Ballygibbon Cash as he landed his semi final in terrific style.
Installed as the 5/4 favourite after landing his opening round assignment seven days prior, Ballygibbon Cash was bidding to build on his 28.95 clock on that occasion and he did so in fine fashion as he drew clear to win comfortably. Owned by John O’Meara, ‘Cash’ didn’t come away too fluently from trap four, however, showed sizzling early speed to outpace his inside rivals and turn with clear daylight. In doing so, the son of Ballymac Cashout and Sive To One opened up brilliantly down the back and he proved a class above his rivals thereafter as he stayed on stoutly to win by five and three parts of a length victory over Rosshill News in second. The time was a fast 28.84 .10s.
In the opening semi final, the favourite also prevailed as Glamorous Woohoo justified his 4/6 starting price for the Horan-Family-Syndicate. Another that claimed victory on opening night, the son of Dorotas Woo Hoo and Rage Emoski was headed early on by Jaydens Lady, however, stuck to his rails berth expertly to turn a handy second. Taking charge at the halfway mark, ‘Woohoo’ stayed on stoutly in the second part of the contest as he drew clear of his rival to win by five and a half lengths. The time was 29.44 .20s.
