NEW SPONSOR AND INCREASED PRIZE MONEY FOR NOVICE BITCH STAKE IN SPK

Shelbourne Park is delighted to welcome on board Coonough Kennels as a new sponsor for their upcoming novice bitch stake.

The competition will now be known as the Ballymac Patriot At Stud ON1 Bitch Stake and will now offer an impressive €4,000 to the winner, increased from last year's €2,500 winner's prize.

Last year, the competition ran as a pre-cursor to the Gourmet Island Puppy Oaks and it certainly attracted attention. From a field of just 12, some of the stand-out names included:

  • - Droopys Kathleen - the superstar Track Record holder and 2024 Gourmet Island Puppy Oaks
  • - ChampionShebetheone - 2025 Suncroft Puppy Oaks Winner
  • - Magical Mag - 2025 Kilcolgan Castle Connacht Derby Winner and currently a BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby Semi-Finalist

Entries are now open with the racing office for this year's competition which hope to start it next Thursday 25th September. Get your entries in by Monday 22nd at 12pm. The competition will then lead in nicely to the €10,000 to the winner Gourmet Island Puppy Oaks, sponsored by Plunkett Matthews, which starts on Friday 25th October.
