After a series of impressive runs, Bogger Pat has been changed hands over the weekend and is to join Pat Buckley and his ever-growing team for the upcoming Con & Annie Kirby Memorial.

A talented son of another former Pat Buckley trained star, Glengar Bale, Bogger Pat suffered his first defeat at Limerick on Saturday in what was his fifth career outing.

He won on debut at Kilkenny in 29.16 before following up at Thurles in 29.30, but he began to really show his potential when switching to Limerick winning in 28.43 and 28.24 in the early rounds of the Tom Real Memorial A2. He mistimed the start in Saturday’s decider before finding little room to race on the bend. He would eventually finish third behind impressive winner Fairy Footsteps.
