BOY AND FRANK JOIN EDDIE AS POSSIBLE INTERNATIONAL CONTENDERS

Ian Fortune

Juvenile Derby champion Getup The Boy and Race of Champions winner and Kirby Memorial runner-up Ballycowen Frank are the latest names connected with a crack at the TIME Dundalk International.

Connections of the dup threw their hat in the ring yesterday and both would have to be strongly considered given all they have achieved.

Getup The Boy claimed a fine success in the Juvenile Derby and subsequently won the Juvenile race at the Winter Racing Festival. The Mark Robinson trained star has also been in tremendous form this year, going deep in the Kirby Memorial and running well in the early rounds of the English Derby.

Ballycowen Frank has developed into one of Ireland’s fastest after showing plenty as a youngster. He finished second to his kennel companion Bouncing Monarch in the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial and only last week won the Race of Champions at Tralee in a record breaking 29.01. That run came just a fortnight after dipping under the 525yd clock, albeit in a three-dog contest.

Those hoping to have a runner in the famous invitational are reminded to get in contact Dundalk to express their interest.
