BRILLIANT BROWNE STUNS IN FAIR WARRIOR

Ian Fortune

It was no surprise to see Stonepark Browne again impress in the Pat Doran Memorial Fair Warrior at Mullingar on Saturday night.

The hugely talented son of Malachi and Coolavanny Ella was wonderful in the second round seven days earlier and he had plenty in his favour this time around.

Drawn on the fence, the Michael O’Donovan trained star made full use of the draw. After a level start, Stonepark Browne eased into a decisive advantage to the bend. Relentless from the front, he eased on to eventually see off Glenlara Dubh and Rallying Billy by five and a half lengths and a head in 21.06.

CLASSY CASHMAN

The second heat was a more competitive affair, although the winner was always going to come from Ardevan Cashman and Callaway Danny once the pair got first run on their rivals.

Callaway Danny held a narrow advantage into the bend but couldn’t get a full length on his rival.

John Cunningham’s Ardevan Cashman ran a hard bend, forcing his way past Callaway Danny to enter the back straight a couple of lengths clear. Callaway Danny came again on the long run to the line but Ardevan Cashman was not for catching. He hit the line a length to the good in 21.32. Supa Mac ran on strongly to take third, four lengths further adrift.
