BUSY TIMES AT MULLINGAR WITH DERBY AND CESAREWITCH ON HORIZON

As has become tradition, the always competitive Kilbride Kennels Midlands Derby A2/A3 550 is set to start in February and entries are invited for the valuable competition.
The stake is set to commence on February 15th and is for 36 greyhounds @ €30. Entries close on Monday week, February 10th at 5pm so don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Mullingar racing office.
CESAREWITCH STICKS WITH NEW FORMAT
For the second year running, the 2025 Irish Cesarewitch will be run on a win and you’re in format with each of the six semi-final winners progressing to the final and a chance of landing the €10,000 winner’s purse.
It’s an incredible sum of money or a two-run event, while also allowing plenty the opportunity to take their chance with 36 runners required for the opening round. This classic gets underway at Mullingar on Sunday March 2nd with the final scheduled for Sunday, March 9th.
A total prize fund of €20,000 is certain to attract plenty of entries with second prize amounting to €3,500, while third will secure €2,000. Each of the three remaining finalists will earn €1,000. There will be also a consolation final.
Cesarewitch 2025 details:
The Cesarewitch will commence on Sunday, March 2nd and final is on Sunday 9th March.
This two-run event is for 36 greyhounds and boasts a first-place prize of €10,000. Entry fee €50. Closing date for entries Monday 24th February 5pm.
There will be additional unofficial trial sessions for Cesarewitch entrants. Details to follow.
