DENIS LINEHAN SOLICITORS UNRACED IS ANOTHER OUTSTANDING EVENT

TOOLMAKER KING (Droopys Sydney-Droopys Curio) went quickest on the clock in the semi-finals of the €10,000 to the winner Denis Linehan Solicitors Open Unraced Stake at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

It looked like a red hot contest on paper but it was the October puppy who ran out a fantastic winner. The 9-4 shot had caught the eye on debut when drawn out wide, however, he made no mistakes this time around from trap two. In front early, the 9-4 winner stormed around the opening corners in front. Solo And Go didn't produce his quickest start and although he was trying hard to get on terms, the one up front always looked strong.Galloping strongly to the winning line, Toolmaker King came home with four and a half lengths to spare over Solo And Go, in 28.25. Bouncing Monarch was three and a half lengths behind the runner-up in third.

    SMASHING PERFORMANCE

In the second semi-final, Ballymac Lake (Droopys Sydney-Ballymac Pete) scored for Liam Dowling. Turnthemagicon flew down the back straight to lead, but the 4-5 favourite never gave up and the November puppy finished best of all on the home straight to land the spoils. Another smashing performance, clocking 28.31, a length and a half clear of Turnthemagicon. Bealad Hercules was a further two lengths back in third.

The Dan & Sheila Buckley Memorial Final went the way of Turbine Taylor (Dorotas Wildcat-Mucky Harbour) as the short-priced 2-7 favourite won easily for Jim McCarthy. A star of the €2,000 to the winner event over the last couple of weeks, this was another superb display as the in-form tracker made every yard of the running to win with plenty to spare. A career-best performance of 28.47, six and a half lengths clear of Dubious Deluxe.
