There’s a familiar look to the top of the market for the Tote Gold Cup with the Liam Dowling trained duo of Solo And Go and Ballymac Stud still very much to the fore after impressing in Saturday’s opening round.
Solo And Go was favourite ahead of his 28.33 return and remains so with his odds cut slightly to 7-2 with BOYLE Sports. Ballymac Stud also posted 28.33 in an impressive win and BOYLE Sports see him as the main danger to his kennel companion. He too had his odds cut slightly and is now just 9-2 to land the early season showpiece.
The big mover in the market was Crossfield Matt. A 20- chance before a blow was struck, he is now just 8-1 after a stunning 28.15 success for Brendan O’Shea. Swords Style won the opening heat of the competition in impressive fashion and also saw his odds cut to 12-1.
He is joined on that mark by Juvenile Derby runner-up Unanimous Leo, who despite finishing only third, looked as sharp as ever. Lennies Dream was well beaten but remains one of the fastest in training if he can put things together at the start. He is on his own at 14-1, just ahead of Bombay Special and Callaway Five on 16-1. The full market can be seen below.
