DROOPYS TRADE POWERS TO VICTORY

    DROOPYS TRADE (Droopys Sydney-Droopys Alice), trained by John Linehan for owners the Three Tall Men Syndicate, set the standard in the second round of the T Nolan C.V.R.T Centre Juvenile Classic on Friday night.

    The 4-6 favourite drove a fantastic opening two corners to slip around in front and once hitting the front in the opening heat, he always looked in control. The exciting July youngster displayed bundles of speed at the head of affairs and he pulled seven lengths clear of Ballymac Dave, in 28.23.

    In heat three, Droopys Patriot (Dorotas Wildcat-Droopys Alyssa) impressed when winning for trainer Robert Gleeson and owners the Newmarket Racing Syndicate. The August puppy, a 4-1 shot, made full use of the inside draw to slip around in front. Showing big back straight speed to pull about five lengths clear, the winner just did enough late on, holding the running on Rural Pest, by three-quarters of a length, in 28.47.

    DOWLING ON THE DOUBLE

    The kennels of Liam Dowling enjoyed a double in the feature races. Ballymac Rapid (Ballymac Best-Ballymac Ariel) took the the second heat. The August puppy was in front early and he went on to beat Glengar Happy, who caught the eye in second, a length the margin, in 28.65.

    The double was complete after the success of Ballymac Nash (Ballymac Kingdom-Ballymac Cameo)in the closing heat. The 2-1 joint favourite made every yard of the running to win, in 28.51. A neck clear of Drumshanbo Susie.
