FIVE WINS ON THE BOUNCE FOR EXCITING PROSPECT ARDFERT SAM

Barry Drake

ARDFERT SAM (Ballymac Cashout-Ardfert Josie) justified 4-5 favoritism to land the feature at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday night, the €2,600 to the winner Mount Brandon Hostel Stakes.

Trained by Brendan Maunsell for owners Joe Nash and Kathleen Glifford, the May youngster produced a quick start, but it was Boomtown Whynot who had a narrow lead going around the opening turns.
The short-priced winning favourite kicked into top gear soon after the second bend, flying to the front and taking complete control up front. In outstanding form in recent times, Ardfert Sam went on to make it five straight wins, in 28.55. Two and a half lengths back to the running on Skelpers Rocket.
