GLENGAR ROBIN FASTEST IN BOYLE SPORTS A3

It was business as usual for Glengar Robin in the semi-finals of the BOYLE Sports A3 525 at Kilkenny on Friday night as she left her rivals chasing shadows for the third week running.

The Pat Buckley trained daughter of Shima Shine and Newinn Liz went up fastest but was held up somewhat on the turn as Droopys Honor attempted to sneak through along the fence.

Glengar Robin shook off her challenge soon, however, and began to ease clear. Away Zoomey came through for second but Glengar Robin emerged four lengths to the good in 28.97 on a track rated .40 slow. Kiltegan Lucy was third, a length and a half further adrift.

TROUT TOO STRONG

The second heat saw Headwire Trout come home in front for Paul Hennessy and James Doyle.

A daughter of Swords Rex and Glenegat Mildred, she broke smartly but failed to match Tell On Ruby and Miss Maytree into the bend.

The duo moved on but Headwire Trout was always close enough to launch a challenge and she did so on the run in. As the front two began to tire, Headwire Trout started to motor. Coming home fast, she got up to beat Miss Maytree by a length in 29.26 (.40 slow), with Tell On Ruby three parts of a length back in third.
