HUTTON HINTS AT IRISH TARGET FOR RAMPANT JASON

Magical Jason has made quite a splash in the UK. A brother to Oaks winner Lennies Ash and half brother to the likes of Magical Luka, Magical Major and Coloursaregreen, he made a stunning debut at Dundalk in May, posting a brilliant 20.84 and was sold to the UK soon after.

He joined Kevin Hutton and has really hit the ground running.The son of Ballymac Cashout has had five starts for his new connections, boasting four wins, each of which came over two bends. Indeed, his only defeat was in his sole four-bend outing.

On Sunday, he raced to a brilliant victory in the Elite Northampton Sprint at Towcester, seeing off a top-quality field with consummate ease. Speaking after the race, Kevin Hutton hinted that a journey back to his native Ireland could be in the offing. 

Speaking with the Racing Post yesterday, Hutton said. “The Scurry and National Sprint are both obvious targets for him and on our radar, but we are also weighing up travelling over for the Winter Racing Festivaltoo. There are some great sprinters in Ireland right now and it would be good to have a crack at them with our lad.”

It would certainly be wonderful to see Magical Jason turn up at the Winter Racing Festival. Indeed, on current form he would look a serious player.
