VEDFIELD TIGER delivered a career-best performance in the second round of the 2025 TIME Greyhound Nutrition Cork Cup at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.
In the ownership of Julie O'Sullivan and Fiadh Murphy, the improving 6-4 shot turned second around the opening corners as Filibustor was taking them along up in front. In a great battle down the back straight, Vedfield Tiger hit the front before the second last corner and he galloped home strongly to beat the early leader, by five lengths, in 28.78. (0.10slow).
IN-FORM TRACKER
In the opening heat, Atlacca Arteta recorded back-to-back wins for Gavin Neehan.
The 2-1 winner exploded from traps and the in-form tracker sailed around the opening turns in front.
Flying down the back straight, the impressive winner always had the race in safekeeping and he came home four and a half lengths clear of the running on Mister Myles.
GREAT OPENING CORNER
Parkview Sprite, trained by Kieran Lynch for John Quinn and John Maher, came home in front in the closing heat.
Driving a great opening corner to turn second behind Ballycowen Jay. Finishing the best from halfway, the 4-6 favourite stayed on strongly to beat the Ballycowen runner, by two and a half lengths, in 29.01.
BACK-TO-BACK
In the second heat, Riverside Popsie was another to record back-to-back winning performances when scoring for Graham Holland and Sheena Murphy.
The 4-5 favourite displayed plenty of back straight speed and the Graham Holland-trained runner took over from Burgess Cutey between the final corners. Pulling away late on, it was a 29.06 winning performance, two and a half lengths clear of the early leader.
