STUD DOG OF THE YEAR 2025: DROOPYS SYDNEY!
Droopys Sydney claims his fourth Stud Dog Award.
Droopys Sydney (Duke Special – Droopys Laramie) is a clear-cut winner of the Irish Greyhound Review Annual Stud Dog of the Year Award, for the fourth year in succession.
Though he passed away in 2024, his progeny continue to excel, making him a true superstar for the Droopys Stud in Portlaw, Co. Waterford, and his owners the Courtmachove Syndicate.
His runners in 2025 included Irish Oaks winner Carrigmore Freya; Droopys Faithful; Sunshine Sioux; Glengar Silent; and across the water, Proper Heiress, Chelms Bear and Wicky Ned; and many more.
In earlier years, he sired two English Derby winners, Deerjet Sydney and Gaytime Nemo; Crafty Shivoo; Singalong Dolly; Droopys Kathleen and Callaway Knegare.
His legacy lives on in the many wonderful runners he sired, which has been recognised with his quartet of stud awards, and we congratulate all connections on his magnificent achievement.
