Druids Say Go and Barntick Bear are two of the biggest names across the water and their handler, Patrick Janssens, suggested to the Racing Post earlier in the week that the talented duo could be bound for Shelbourne Park and the Winter Racing Festival.
Of course, Janssens won the Winter Racing Festival Open Bitch 525 back in 2022 with Fabulous Azzura and his recent British Oaks winner Druids Say Go is set to be aimed at the same contest. A superb winner of bitch classic at Perry Barr last weekend, she also won the East Anglian Derby at Yarmouth in September.
The daughter of Droopys Sydney and Druids Diana also happens to be on a run of incredible form, winning her last eight starts and fourteen of her last fifteen.
Barntick Bear recently set a new track record at Towcester for the 500m trip and he is to be aimed at the Winter Racing Festival Open 600. Certainly, the additional yards won’t be a problem for the powerful son of Droopys Sydney.
Said Janssens to the Racing Post on his plans for Druids Say Go, “All being well, she’ll go over and line up in the same race Fabulous Azurra won for us a couple of years ago – I think that will suit her but we’ll see how she goes in her trial.
Janssens went on, “We’re also planning to send Barntick Bear over for the 600yds race, so hopefully we’ll have two big chances.”
Let’s hope both stars make the journey for the Winter Racing Festival. Given their huge ability, they would be a great addition to the weekend.
