KATHLEEN ON EASY LIST AND TOUCH AND GO FOR OAKS

Named Future Star of the Year at the National Greyhound Racing Awards, Droopys Kathleen has been one of the most spoken about youngsters to ever emerge on the Irish track scene.

Her sensational victory in the Gourmet Island Puppy Oaks was enough to get the eyes of the entire greyhound racing world on her.

Her semi-final display was amongst the greatest ever seen on these shores as she smashed the Shelbourne Park track record with a scarcely believable 27.58 return.

She was due to return for a crack at upcoming Suncroft Festival Puppy Oaks but her handler Robert Gleeson confirmed over the weekend that she had damaged a tendon and would miss her intended engagement and is even touch and go whether she will make the Sporting Press Irish Oaks. It’s disappointing news but connections still plan to have her back on the track so hopefully all goes well in her recuperation from a small operation.
