KILKENNY SALES PREVIEW SATURDAY 7TH 2026
The first sales of the year takes place next Saturday morning at Kilkenny stadium where racing Manager Tommy Knanne has put together some really nice types. Iveloked through the catalogue and there is plenty of exciting types for new buyers and there should be value to be got.
The eye catchers on the catalogue for me are lot 9 Scrahan Twist, smart siblings Anglesey Eddie lot 12 and Anglesey West lot 14 and if looking for a versatile bitch check out lot 21 Glideaway Hazel who could be a real money spinner over 525/600 yards. Lot 31 Blackstone Marbl has a smart pedigree and will improve.
Lot 39 Eight Belles certainly catches the eye with an exciting 29.17 trial around Shelbourne Park in middle of January while Lot 47 Hatfield View looks to have a bright future and lastly recent victor Seefin Star lot 57 also merits attention.
Lot 1 BLACKLABEL POWER (Black Shaw – Temple Armani) Oct 24
From a damline that has thrown some very nice sorts. Really smart trial on 23rd January when winning in a really nice 29.82 There is a lot to like about this October 24 whelp. Will attract plenty of attention.
Lot 2 OHTHERETOM (Droopys Got It – Ontheresky) Oct 24
Dams first litter has a winning 43% strike rate. Has an eye catching trial around Kilkenny clocking 30.24 and warrants plenty of attention as this could be a really nice buy.
Lot 3 AUTUMN LYDIA (Broadstrand Bono – Autumn Grace) Oct 24
Has one trial to date when beaten half length in 30.17 around Waterford. Dam has thrown some real nice sorts in her first litter. This lady is sure to be a really nice money spinner for new connections.
Lot 4 ROPEWALK BLACK (DroopysFlytline – Saratoga) Oct 24
Really smart 16.70 trial on 21st January over the sprint trip at Kilkenny. This cracking 62lb bitch will be on quite a few short lists I suspect. There is a lot to like about her.
Lot 5 BALTRAY HOPE (Droopys Got It – Ohtheresky) Oct 24
Litter comrade of lot 3. Qualified around Thurles in early December winning his only trial by a wide margin clocking 30.34 Dam throws a really decent sort and there is plenty to like about this fellow.
Lot 6 AUTUMN DARCY (Broadstrand Bono – Autumn Grace) Oct 24
Only one trial to date when beaten four lengths in 30.10 around Waterford. Certainly will have learnt a lot from that experience and is open to plenty of improvement one suspects.
Lot 7 ROPEWALK FLYTE (DroopysFlytline – Saratoga) Oct 24
One trial to date when runner up to her sister (lot 4) over the sprint trip at Kilkenny on 21st January. This is the dams first litter but pedigree has a lot to like about it and definitely deserves close attention. Should be a real money spinner.
Lot 8 AUTUMN KITTY (Broadstrand Bono – Autumn Grace) Oct 24
Kitty has only one trial to go on where she won over the standard trip in 30.17 around Waterford. Will come on a lot for that run and damline has thrown plenty of decent types.
Lot 9 SCRAHAN TWIST (Feora Chris – Ballymac Alannah) Sep 24
Twist a real eye catcher in her only race to date showing plenty of pace only to be caught close home beaten a length in 29.73 around Waterford (note the winner came out a clocked 29.11 a week later). This lady has so much to like about her one for the shortlist.
Lot 10 DANCE LOVEE (Malachi- Lovee Dovee) Sept 24
This lady has only had one trial to date where she was beaten a length clocking 30.55 around Kilkenny. Hard to really judge on this line of form.
Lot 11 GOLDEN DROP (Epic Hero – Dalcash Dapper) Sept 24
Came up against a hot one in her only race to date (2nd beaten 7.5lengths in 29.33) have disputed the lead down to the third bend. Showed plenty of ability to suggest there will be plenty of fun nights ahead with this lady. Has a very nice pedigree to boot and will be on plenty of buyers lists one suspects.
Lot 12 ANGLESEY EDDIE (King Sheeran – BallymacRevmie) Aug 24
Member of a really exciting looking litter. Only one trial to date where Eddie finished second to litter comrade beaten 5 lengths in 29.15 around Cork Can see this fellow going a lot better on Saturday and could be one of the top lots on the day. Watch this space
Lot 13 COIN BOX (Ballymac Cashout – ArdevanJewel) Aug 24
There will be plenty of money going back into this coin box one expects. Two really nice trials to date and owner hasn’t rushed this strapping 80lb dog. Dam has thrown plenty of winners and this fellow will be on the winners rostrum several times throughout his career I would expect.
Lot 14 ANGLESEY WEST (King Sheeran – BallymacRevmie) Aug 24
Roll up roll up roll up. One of the really potential stars on the catalogue really caught the eye when winning his only trial to date in 29.21 around Cork on 31st of January. Comrades are really smart and the auctioneer will be a busy man here. This fellow is on my shortlist.
Lot 15 KLASSY KATIE (Dromana Bucko – Greenwell Elle) Aug 24
Dam was a four time winner in open class around Brough Park. Closely related to Pacey Bambi winner of first three round of English Derby 2017 and Droopys Odell 2014 Racing post Juvenile Wimbledon. This lady is worth noting is British bred so is eligible for all English bred competitions. How Klassy is Katie time will tell but she certainly ticks all the right boxes.
Lot 16 DIEGO KINGFISHER (King Sheeran – Diego Lola) Aug 24
Qualified over sprint trip around Thurles in middle of January clocking 18.62. Open to more improvement and will be a nice addition for any kennel.
Lot 17 ANGLESEY LUCA (King Sheeran – Ballymac Reymie) Aug 24
Stopped the clock at 17.91 over the sprint trip at Cork. Looks to be a member of a really smart litter. Comrades also on catalogue lots 12 and 14 Watch with interest.
Lot 18HAPPYWOOD (Ballymac Cashout – Burgess Millie) July 24
Well bred lady won has qualified over the 525 yard trip around Kilkenny clocking 30.37 Dam has had two litters to date and all have multiple wins. If you are looking for a bitch to have plenty of fun with this lady must be on the short list.
Lot 19 LUMINOUS FAITH (Grangeview Ten – Ballymac Tam) July 24
Really exciting young lady who was beaten in her only trial to date clocking 29.65 around Kilkenny. Dam has thrown plenty of winners and this lady will go on to be another really exciting prospect.
Lot 20 BEECHILL BUCKO (Dromana Bucko – Prosecco Palace) July 24
Clocked a decent 18.17 over the Newbridge sprint trip on 16th of January.
Dam was a three time winner around Newbridge and Shelbourne during her career.
Definitely recommend a close view as this lady can be a real money spinner for new
connections.
Lot 21 GLIDEAWAY HAZEL (Newinn Taylor – Glideaway Magic) July 24
Hazel has ran two races to date and has shown plenty of ability. Really eye catching run last
time out from a bad draw she fluffed the start and despite showing plenty of greenness ran on
very strongly to only be beaten two and a half lengths. Could be lots of fun with this lady over a
range of trips. She is one I would love to be taking home Saturday afternoon…….
Lot 22 MILLIES WOOD (Ballymac Cashout – Burgess Millie) July 24
Dam has thrown some really nice types in her first two litters and this lady looks to be another
real money spinner for connections. Qualified in 30.16 At Kilkenny will go lot quicker.

Interesting newcomer from an A1 bitch. Qualified over 525 yards clocking 3019 around Clonmel on 23rd of January. Looks a decent type.
Lot 24 LEMON LUNA (Broadstrand Bono – Lemon Stacey) July 24
From the damline that produced Cochise 2023 English Cesraewitch winner and English derby
finalist and multiple other open class racers. Luna has two races to date but has yet to set the
pulses racing but is certainly worth taking a punt on in my opinion.
Lot 25 JIMMY SEA (Good Cody – Lululemon) July 24
Jimmy has qualified over both sprint and standard distance at Kilkenny. Recently clocked 30.25
in 525 trial suggestsbe ideal prospect for more improvement.
Lot 26 ANGELWOOD (Ballymac Cashout – Burgess Millie) July 24
Only one trial to date clocking 30.33 around Limerick. Dam has thrown multiple winners to date from her two first litters; Looks a shrewd purchase for new connections.

Interesting unraced dog with some really nice trial form. Dam has thrown some
nice sorts and this lad looks another to give new connections plenty of fun.

Dynamo has had only race to date so is very hard to really judge from that. Some
Of his comrades have won races. Would be a nice addition to any kennels.
Lot 31 BLACKSTONE MARBL (Tommy Shelby – Magnetism) Jun24
Still a maiden after three runs but is a highly interesting entry. Has clocked 29.49 when runner
up in his second race. Dam has a very smart pedigree and has thrown a few smart ones and
something about this fellow just catches my eye. Dam is full sister to Clona Duke.
Lot 32 MANDEVILLE MIST (Dorotas Wildcat – Golden Mist ) June 24
This lady has only one trial to date beaten six lengths in 29.87 in Waterford,
Dam has thrown multiple open class winners including Golden Palace finalist
In Hunt Cup Group 1 at Oxford.
Lot 33 CONORS SPECK (Good Cody – Its All Over) Jun 24
Winner last time out around Waterford in 29.51 and continues to progress with each run.
Still learning with every run and could be more progress to come.
Lor 34 LYNHO OZZIE (Ballymac Cashout – Source Of Joy) Jun24
One win from two starts to date clocking 29.81 around Drumbo Park. Dams first litter were very smart and npo reason why Ozzie won’t pay his way. Could be a very nice grader for new kennels.
Lot 35 KNOCK ZAYA (Serene Ace – Ballydoyle Ruby) June 24
Has one qualifying trial to date winning in 30.20 at Clonmel. Worth a closer inspection on the day.
Lot 36 TWO TONE BOY (Orchestrate – Silverhill Star) June 24
Dam was a four time winner around Newbridge winning in 29.15 and has thrown plenty of winners to date from her first two litters. This boy has one qualifying trial around Newbridge clocking 18.35 over the sprint trip. Should be plenty of improvement when stepped up in trip.
Lot 37 BLACKSTONE SNOWY (Ballymac Cooper – Blackstone Kerri) June 24
Interesting unraced bitch who has had three trials to date most recent on 14th of January when clocking a 17.02 run around Kilkennys sprint trip. Hails from same family of Skywalker Barry 2020 Puppy Derby winner, 2021 Select Stakes and 2022 Gold Cup winner as well as plenty other smart types.
Lot 38 GOUL RIVER (Good Cody – Its All Over)m June 24
Cracking lady who has won around Waterford in 29.11, Connections also tried her over 730 trip which suggest she has plenty of stamina. Certainly be plenty of fun to be had with this lady.

Excting young unraced butch who qualified in 29.17 around Shelbourne Park on 17th of January. Dam was lightly raced winning all her three career races, Really nice pedigree with this lady there will be plenty of bidding on this lady.

Unraced pup with two trials to date over 525 at Kilkenny qualifying in both. Open to more improvement and could be a cheap buy.

Two time winner in 29.48 and 29,32 around Waterford, Geunine honest looking lady who gives her all everytime and be an ideal addition to a kennels

Young bitch with two trial to date on her cv and is going the right direction. Qualified over the Limerick sprint trip in August and returned in mid January with a very pleasing 30.09 trial around Kilkenny.
Lot 43 KILMOGANNY LUCK (Bogger Hunter – Bogger Rosie) May 24
Surprisingly is still a maiden after six races after some nice runs. Wont be long til she is on the winners rostrum will it be for you? I think she could be a real money spinner for new connections.

Was beaten a length on 17th of January in his only trial to date in 29.70 around Shelbourne Park. Like his siblings on earlier there is quite a bit to like about this fellow.

Won his only qualifying trial in late October when clocking 30.18 around the standard trip at Kilkenny. Dam has thrown plenty of winners and this fellow will be another.

Decent looking young bitch with just two trials on her card. Has done notrhiung wrong to date and is sure to give new connections a lot of fun nights out in her career.
Lot 47 HATFIELD VIEW (Grangeview Ten – Droopys Claire) May 24
Still a maiden after four races but has shown plenty of promise. Runner up in three races to date this fellow deserves a little bit of luck Has 29.19 29.29 on his card and is a dog Im very much drawn to.

Interesting lady with just a sprint trial to date on her card. Siblings have shown plenty of ability and one can only expect that this lady is in the same mould.

Unraced May pup who recently qualified in a decent 30.18 around Clonmel. Dam has thrown plenty of nice types in her previous litters and Milo will be another.
Lot 50 COOLMEEN JACK (Good Cody – Magical Elsie) May 24
Jack has really sent the pulses racing since he made his debut on the 5th of December winning in 29.30 at Waterford but finding trouble in his next two races. On January 22nd in only his fourth race Jack was foot perfect at trap and showing lovely early pace he made every yard to win in 29.03 Clearly a dog going the right way and will be on many shortlists.

Two wins from six starts both in 29.36 respectively Sky is another with a bright future. One could do worse than have this lady in there kennel for the year ahead. Should be a really nicemoneyspinner.

Caught the eye when staying on to finish third in her opening around around Newbridge where she clocked 29.49 Has got into crowding at the opening bend in her two starts since but this lady has shown enough to expect a big run in the near future.

Finally got all his lines right when trapping smartly he put in a flawless performance to win in 29.00 at Cork, Will have learnt a lot from this and can step up again on this run.
