KNEGARE FLIES IN SHELBOURNE TRIAL

Callaway Knegare sent out a reminder to all willing to pay attention at Shelbourne Park on Saturday evening that he is going to be a major force in 2025, posting a sensational 27.99 in a trial ahead of racing.

Owen McKenna was obviously happy with the spin stating, “It was a good run. That will blow away the cobwebs. He’s only had a couple of sprints and a few gallops so you’d expect him to come on for the trial. I’d be hopeful he can go well in the Easter Cup”.

Of course, McKenna has a great history in the oldest classic on the calendar, winning it four times in the past with Ahane Lad in 2006, Thurlesbeg Joker in 2010, Colarhouse Gerry in 2018 and most recently with the exceptional Susie Sapphire in 2022. One suspects Derby third and Juvenile Derby champion Callaway Knegare will be right at the top of the betting in the week leading up to the opening round on Saturday, March 15th.
