Liam Peacock enjoyed big race success at Kilcohan Park on Saturday night, as BOGGER BOB (Callaway Pro Am-Bogger Megan) delivered a powerful performance to win the €10,000 to the winner Droopys Stud Select Stakes.
Shanahee Boomer broke best, but it was Beanos Yank who flew along the inside to slip around in front. Slick Sabre was also in the mix out wide, but he found trouble at the opening bend, which ended his chance. Leading fancy Magical Luka lost all chances at traps.
Down the back, Beanos Yank was flying along up front. Last early, Bogger Bob, who drove a fantastic set of opening corners, was also catching the eye along the rails. It all changed between the final bend as Beanos Yank moved off the inside and opened the door for Bogger Bob, who took full advantage.
Railing tightly throughout, the strong-running Bogger Bob finished best for a famous success. Bob stayed on powerfully to deny the front-running Beanos Yank, by a length and a half, in 28.57. Two lengths back to Shanahee Boomer in third place.
Zippy Major (Ballyhimikin Jet-Knockdrinna Ruth) came home in front to win the €2,300 to the winner Whitewood Kennels A3 Stake Final.
The 6-1 outsider was last early as Scrahan Fox was taking them along up front. Favourite Daring Oreo was displaying plenty of speed down the back, but he ran up the back of the leader, and the winner was soon within touching distance.
Powering home, Zippy Major was on top late on, and the July puppy, for Paula Hoban, got up to beat longtime leader Scrahan Fox, by a head, in 28.80. Five lengths back to Daring Oreo in third place.
In the closing race, Fahee Phantom (Fahee Storm-Warzone Lil) produced the run of the session when clocking 28.23 for trainer Graham Holland and owner Kenny Glen.
The even-money favourite took control along the inside early, pulling clear down the back, the impressive winner came home seven and a half lengths clear of West Coast Cool, in 28.23.
