LYNCH TREBLE IN OPENING ROUND OF THE GAYTIME KENNELS A2/A3 STAKE

The opening round of the €8,300 Gaytime Kennels A2/A3 Stake got underway at Curraheen Park on Saturday night and it produced some fantastic racing.

Local trainer Kieran Lynch took three of the opening four first-round heats. Hollyhill Pad clocked 28.84 in the second heat for owner Ger Gubbins. The even-money favourite looked in trouble at halfway, however, he produced a superb finish to get up on the line. Ballydague Rebel was also making late gains, a short head back in second with a short head back to the front running Senahel Beauty

In the following contest, Morrigan Fay scored in style, winning for Lynch and owners John Hyde and James Spillane. The 5-2 winner was making it three wins from just four career starts with another impressive display, clocking 28.90. Handy early, the-in-form tracker displayed big back straight speed and he beat the staying on Droopys Glamour, by six lengths. A length and a half back to Curragh Socks in third.

It was three in a row for the Lynch kennels after Parkview Sprite came home in front in the closing heat. In the ownership of John Quinn and John Maher, the 5-4 favourite was in front early and the February youngster was making it four wins from just five career starts. Always in control up front, the classy youngster went on to clock 28.85, five lengths clear of Ballycowen Jay.

ONE FOR THE FUTURE 
In other races, the well-named Vroom Vroom Mag (Droopys Sydney-Droopys Alice) made an outstanding winning debut in the second of the night.

Trained by Johnny Linehan for owners Barry O'Driscoll and Jimmy Barry Murphy, the July youngster came away racing and she was quickly in control. Storming down the back straight, she was soon well clear and the exciting prospect came home with nine lengths to spare over Midian Saki, in 28.57.
