Pat Guilfoyle issued an update on two of his very best, litter brothers Magical Luka and Magical Major, in recent days.
Both established themselves amongst the very fastest and most exciting in training last week but their year ended prematurely.
Thankfully, both are said to be in great order with Guilfoyle confirming he is taking his time with the pair. The brothers had sprint trials at Limerick at the back end of last week and just a spot separated them with both said to have gone fast.
Said Pat of his stars, “We've taken our time with them as both had quite nasty ailments.Luka has recent official trials of 17.32 at Cork and 28.13 at Tralee. It's just a matter of finding the right race for him. He'll probably start back in the Select Stakes at Waterford and possibly take in the Open Sprint at Limerick beforehand. I'd have loved to have sent him back to Kevin for the Laurels at Dunstall Park but time was against us.
“Majors trial this morning was his first trial back. He'll need to be handled very cautiously over the next few months but all appears well so far. He has no immediate targets.
“Incidentally, Major mated some of Irelands best females during his winter break including, Burgess Sarah (dam of Magical On Fire and Daleroad Duke), Kyanite Kate, Fashion Model, Short Grip and Scooby Princess.”
It’s great to hear that the brothers are on the mend and will be back in action very soon.
