MAIDEN DERBY A REAL DRAW AT SHELBOURNE

There is certain to be plenty of interest in the newest competition on the Shelbourne Park calendar, the valuable Shelbourne Maiden Derby over 550yds.

The stake is currently being advertised and there could be quite a clamor for a place in the line-up with €7,500 on offer to the winner.

Depending on the entry, the stake will be or either 18 or 24 greyhounds that have never won an AA0 contest over four bends. Those with a win over two or six bends in SS0 or DD0 company will be permitted to enter.

The opening round is penciled for Saturday, September 21^st with the final scheduled for Saturday, October 5^th. Given its timing in the calendar, it’s very likely a number of potential Derby challengers will be amongst the entry and it should provide some exceptional racing.
