MAIDEN MALINAS FAVOURITE FOR DERBY SUCCESS

Ballymac Malinas is a maiden in every sense of the word.

After six career outings he has yet to win a race but he is a clear and rather warm favourite for the Shelbourne Maiden Derby which begins in Dublin on Saturday.

The son of Ballymac Cooper and Ballymac Wisdom is very highly thought of and displayed his ability in a coupe of flying recent trials at Shelbourne, posting 18.41 for the sprint trip and a stunning 27.86 for 525yds last weekend. It is perhaps no surprise to see him topping the BOYLE Sports market at 3-1.

He won’t have things his own way, however. Brother Thomas and Lee Strand winner Music Inthe Air are also amongst those chasing the €10,000 prize. The duo are available at 5-1, ahead of Miami Hyland at 12-1. The full market can be seen below:
