The fancied Lemon Smile may have been a late withdrawal from the final of the Sean Corcoran Memorial at Kilkenny on Friday night but the Lennon clan still managed to claim the valuable prize with Lemon Milo doing the business instead.
This was pretty straightforward for the son of Ballymac Best and Cats Belle. He may have been drawn wider than ideal in six as an inside seed but he looked right at home in the stripes, flashing from traps and quickly opening a clear advantage into the turn.
His task was made somewhat easier with Brostaigh Cullen edging towards the fence from five, leaving Lemon Milo with extra room, although it scarcely mattered. Lemon Milo was never gong to surrender his advantage once turning in front and he duly eased right away to win by eights lengths from Brostaigh Cullen in 29.39 with Happy Days Syd another length back in third.
