MISTER MYLES, in the care of Ross Myles for the Clonmel Five Syndicate, ran out a popular winner of the feature at Curraheen Park on Saturday night, the €5,000to the winner TIME Greyhound Nutrition Cork Cup.
It looked like a very open contest on paper and it turned into a super exciting contest. Plenty were in the mix heading into the opening corner, but it was Drive On Bono who slipped around in front from Mister Myles.
From there, it was a straight match between the front two. The leader was going along nicely up front but the eye was always drawn to Mister Myles as he had produced some big finishes in previous rounds.
The 5-1 winner had a length to find turning for home and it wasn't till the very last stride that he got up. It was a close call with Mister Myles getting the verdict over Drive On Bono, by the shortest of margins, in 28.69.
Mister Myles had plenty of support in the crowd and received a fantastic reception. Oll The Doll stayed on for third, five lengths behind the runner-up.
IMPRESSED
In the Open Bitch 525, Deelish Noraimpressed when winning for John McGee for J.S.Porter.
The 9-4 shot produced a stunning start and she made every yard of the running to win in fine style. A 28.44 winning performance, three and a half lengths clear of Bockos Sapphire.
STRONG FINISH
Called in from the reserves, Orchid Queen put on a strong finish to win the closing race, the Maura O'Donovan Memorial Open 525.
Nathan Moloney's lady was towards the back early but she displayed plenty of pace and power late on. A 28.69 winning performance, a length clear of the long time leader Swords Don.
FRONT-RUNNING DISPLAY
Pammies Spice returned to top form with a superb front-running display in the fifth, an A1 contest.
A couple of classy sorts lined up in this and it was the 4-1 winner who won the all-important lead. In front throughout, Pammies Spice was strong throughout as she beat Ardrath Ali, by two lengths, in 28.88.
CONVINCING WINNER
In the A1 575, Aherla Rocco was always in control as Jerome Crowley's runner ran out a convincing winner.
The 6-4 favourite was in front after a couple of strides and from there, he was always going to take the world of catching. Displaying big speed up front, the impressive winner clocked 31.35, two and a half lengths clear of Millride Nadia.
