The first major stake at Limerick is just around the corner, with the J.P. & Pauline Ryan Memorial Limerick Oaks A1 525 set to get underway in early February.
The 2026 renewal is very kindly sponsored by Dominic Ryan, carer of Mitchelstown Construction Limited, and carries a handsome €9,000 prize to the winner.
Won last year by Barefoot On Song, who went on to finish runner-up to Cheap Sandwiches in the final of the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby, the Limerick Oaks consistently attracts the country’s leading females and is traditionally one of the most competitive stakes on the circuit.
With the opening round scheduled to kick off in just over two weeks, the Dock Road circuit is now open for entries, and early entry is strongly advised. For those considering a tilt at the event, a special session of unofficial trials has also been arranged, with full details outlined below.
