NOVICES WITH OPTIONS AT SHELBOURNE AHEAD OF NATIONAL PUPPY

The Ballyhimikin Jet @ Stud ON2/ON3 525 is set to commence at Shelbourne Park next Thursday night after being put back a week.

It’s worth noting the stake will be completed ahead of the National Puppy Stake to allow the youngsters to compete in both competitions.

This mans that only two will qualify for the final should they get 18 entries, or three to qualify if it is run as a 12-dog comp. A reminder, it is worth an impressive €3,000 to the winner so don’t hesitate to get your entries into the Shelbourne racing office.

There is also an A2 (no backgraders) getting underway on the same night worth €2,200 to the winner. This is for 18 greyhounds, whelped January ’23 or younger.

OPEN UNRACED ALSO ADVERTISED

There is also an Open Unraced on the horizon.

The Upcoming IGOBF ON! stake will be run as a 12 or 18 dog competition. Given the time constraints, to allow competitors also take part in the National Puppy Stake, this will be run as a two-run contest.

Should it be run as a twelve-dog competition, three will qualify for the final or two to qualify if it attracts eighteen greyhounds. There will also be a consolation final.

NATIONAL PUPPY APPROACHING

The IGOBF National Puppy Stake will get underway on Friday, November 22nd, the eve of the Boylesports Derby.

Worth a wonderful €12,500 to the winner, it is for 24 greyhounds aged January ’23 or younger. The final is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th.
