QUIVERS LAYLA LANDS SWIFTRACK SPOILS AT CLONMEL

There was €2,000 on offer to the winner of the Swiftrack BC Ltd Unraced Bitch Stake 525 at Clonmel Greyhound Stadium on Friday night and it went the way of Quivers Layla, who built on her impressive semi-final performance to land the spoils for P.J. and Linda Sugrue.

Kindly sponsored by Swiftrack BC Ltd, this competition has seen several promising young ladies launch their careers in recent weeks and no doubt we will be hearing plenty more from them in the opening quarter of 2027. On the night, it was Quivers Layla who justified her 5/4 favouritism, building nicely on her 28.92 semi-final victory as she once again showcased her strong finishing power to come from off the pace.

Trained by Adam Dunford, ‘Layla’ was quickest to react at traprise, however, she was soon headed as Rallying Ruby charged up the inside to take a slender advantage into the back straight. With little separating the duo down the far side, Quivers Layla began to turn the screw around the bottom two bends before striking the front on the approach to the home straight. Now in full flight, the daughter of Ballymac Cashout – Quivers Safari powered up the demanding Clonmel hill to see off the fast-finishing Tyrap Chilli by two lengths, stopping the clock in 28.95.
