Last Saturday’s sales at Kilkenny Track resulted in a record turnover of €85,000.
Aside from the Elite National Sales held at Shelbourne Park a few years back, this was the highest turnover recorded by any sales venue in Ireland since sales results were first recorded in 2013.
There was a large turnout on the day, while on-line activity was also brisk. This resulted in a very lively auction with bids for all greyhounds. In fact, all but one greyhound sold.
Bellmore Hector (Coolavanny Hoffa/ Bellmore Lucy) an October ’23 unraced youngster won his trial in 29.88 and was sold for best of the day €4,000. Not far behind was Droopys Hottie, who recorded the fastest time of the day.
A maiden after four starts, the July ’23 daughter of Dromana Bucko and Droopys Dance won her trial in 29.42 and was later sold for €3,750. September ’23 litter sisters Wonder Wood, Pine Wood and Miss Bluewood (Ballmac Anton/ Burgess Millie) all ran well in their trials and between them fetched just over €7,500.
There was a number of other notable sales including Pookies Plato (€3,300), Puckane Out (€3,100), Puckane Beano (€2,850) and Luminous Enoch (€2,200).
