Rolo Tokyo said goodbye to graded company in some style at Dundalk on Saturday night, emerging a sensational winner of the Eamon and Paddy Carroll Memorial in a near record breaking 28.15.
This was another procession for John Scofield’s hugely talented son of Coolavanny Hoffa and Oi Oi Upenalty, getting loose in the early yards to dominate.
The Damian Maginn trained May ’23 whelp would race right away to eventually see off Moss Fairbanks by six and a half lengths. His time was just one spot off the track record of Swanley Chick and was the second fastest time ever recorded at Dundalk for the standard trip. It will be interesting to see where Rolo Tokyo goes next but, it goes without saying, he is clearly capable of going on to bigger and better things.
