Barry Drake
SOLO AND GO, trained by Liam Dowling for owners the Kingdom Palace Syndicate, lands a narrow vote in the feature final at Curraheen Park tonight, the €5,000 to the winner 1XBet Supersprint decider.
The selection brings strong form to the race. Second in the Laurels final, the classy performer went on to win the Kingdom Derby before finishing second in the final of the Gold Cup at Shelbourne. He ran well in the opening round of the Supersprint, but he showed improved form last week when displaying plenty of speed and power to just deny Tiermana Dream, in 17.41.
Drawn well in trap two, if producing his quickest start, there's no doubt he's the one to beat. It's a red-hot contest, and there's no margin for error. A foot-perfect display will be needed; however, he's capable.
Stonepark Browne, trained by Michael O'Donovan for owner Michael O'Dwyer, is next best. He impressed in the opening round, winning in 17.65, and although never involved last time, he still managed to run well and qualify from a tricky draw in trap five. The rails pitch will suit, and if doing things right, he is as quick as anything in the line-up.
Of the others, the likes of the Colm Fitzgerald's Tiermana Dream and Liam Dowling's Ballymac Stud should also be involved. The first-named has a tough draw, while Ballymac Stud should enjoy plenty of racing room out wide. He has bundles of speed, but he can hit or miss at the traps.
DYNAMIC FORCE @ STUD BITCH STAKE
The €3,500 to the winner Dynamic Force @ Stud Bitch Stake is another fantastic feature on the card. Danish Bubble, trained by Graham Holland for owners the Slattery Family Syndicate, gets the nod in a wide-open contest. The early paced selection has delivered a couple of fine runs in recent weeks, and she looks capable of making a bold bid from the inside of the track. A 28.76 winner two runs ago, she ran another decent race last week, second to Blastoff Music - who re-opposes. Philip Buckley's Blastoff Music has obvious claims once more. The improving youngster clocked 28.96 last week, but can he win the all-important early lead this time around?. Both look set to battle it out up front.
In the opener, Millridge Patsy stands out for the kennel of Donal O'Mahony. The pacey selection has plenty of pace and power, and from the inside of the track, she is sure to go very well. A recent winner around Tralee, she ran well in defeat around here last time out, and with any luck in running, the nap selection should return to winning ways. The April puppy can get punters off to a flying start.
In the fourth, Da Dapper Flynn rates the one to beat for trainer Pat Kiely. No stranger to big performances around, the selection comes here in decent form, and he's expected to make the most of what looks like a nice drop in class. He can be hit or miss at the traps, but if he produces a decent start, it will take a good performance to turn him over.
Hello My Friend is next best for the Coakley kennels. That was a real smart run in defeat last time, and the pacey tracker should enjoy the step up in distance. Capable of a fast start, the four-time winner is a huge player in this line-up.
It promises to be a great night of racing with extra prize money throughout the card all thanks to the Curraheen Park Supporters Club.
