THREE ON THE BOUNCE FOR TETRA DESTINY IN PEGASUS CUP

The semi-finals of the €7,500 to the winner Pegasus A2 Stake were the feature races at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

In the opening semi-final, Tetra Destiny (Ballymac Bolger-Stouke Nova) was another to make it three straight wins, winning for the Benalmadena Syndicate. In the care of Kevin Loughnane, the even-money favourite clocked a sizzling 3.22 sectional from the inside of the track, and from there, the classy winner was always in control. Killough Sniper was next, five lengths back, with a head back to Vedfield Tiger in thIn the second semi-final, Oriental King (Coolavanny Hoffa-Newinn Willow) made it two wins from his last three outings with another smart display. Trained by Denise Ryan, the 1-2 favourite tracked the early pace around the opening corners. Super Syd was taking them along up front, but the winner had too much firepower in the second half of the race. Finishing best, Oriental King came home three lengths clear of Super Syd, in 28.63. Five lengths back to Ballycowen Moon in third place.

No Ya (Pestana-Black Malibu), for Sally O'Donovan, Donoughmore, completed three straight wins in the €1,250 to the winner Curraheen Park Supporters Club A4/A5 Stake.

In superb form in recent weeks, the 3-1 winner produced a decent start out wide as Kerabellec Rosy stormed along up front. Flying down the back straight to lead, the in-form winner kept on well up front, pulling out all the stops to beat the running-on Millridge Patsy by two lengths in 28.95.

Timmys Bucks (Burgess Bucks-Trusted Exile) produced one of his quickest starts in the closing race, an A0, and once leading around from the rails, it was game over. The 3-1 winner is a powerful running sort, and he often comes from well off the pace to score. Owned by Tim and Olive Cliffe, the winner was showing all of his usual big speed up front. Pulling right away up front, Timms Bucks came home with six and a half lengths to spare over Chaotic Gustav, in 28.36.

In the opening semi-final of the GoGreyhoundRacing.Ie A3, it was Da Little Jet (Magical Bale-Oranage Josie) who drove a fantastic opening corner and the 6-4 winner went on to beat Gortkelly Love, by a length and a half, in 31.54, winning for Daniel Cronin and the B Y K Syndicate.

In the second semi-final, Boherash Leo (Ballymac Bolger-Slaneyside Twirl) scored for Leonard Hanrahan. The 4-1 shot led early, and he kept finding up front, making it win number 19 of his career. Too Easy kept on well in second, a length and a half back, in 31.72.

Tracton trainer Kieran Lynch produced two fine winners. In the fifth, the D1 750, Desert Flower (Malachi-Ballyverry Sarah) powered to a nine-length success, in 41.65. Backed into 4-6 favourite, the impressive winner pulled right away late on.
In the ninth, an A1 550, Shutinthedark (Roaming Turbo-Burgess Madam) delivered a top-class 29.66 winning run. The 3-1 winner was seven and a half lengths clear of Sleedagh Charm.

Race six, an A2 550, was all about Confident Hugo (Ballymac Cashout-Confident Petal) for trainer James Kelleher and the Length and a Half Syndicate. The 2-1 winner displayed plenty of early pace to lead, soon clear, it was all one-way traffic up front. A 29.64 winning run, three and a half lengths clear of Bogger Callie.
