TIGER CAN MAKE ALL THE RUNNING

VEDFIELD TIGER, for the kennel of Julie O’Sullivan and Fiadh Murphy, can make it a hat trick or straight successes by making every yard of the running in the feature race at Curraheen Park tonight, the €3,800 to the winner final of the Gaytime Kennels A2/A3 Stake.

In magnificent form in recent weeks, the selection impressed in the quarter finals, winning 29.03 and he followed that up with another smashing effort last week, stopping the clock in 28.99. All about early pace, from the rails pitch, he is expected to lead early and in doing so, he should take serious catching.

LYNCH AT THE DOUBLE

Local trainer Kieran Lynch is doubly represented in the feature final.

Hollyhill Pad could be the best of his chances for owner Ger Gubbins. He was a major eye catcher two runs ago when displaying massive speed and power to win, in 28.84. There’s no doubt that he is the quickest in the lineup, however, he is inconsistent at the traps. If he can turn handy around the opening turns, he would then be a huge danger to all.

The other Lynch runner is Morrigan Fay, who is owned by John Hyde and James Spillane. A nice sort with plenty of strong form in the book, he will need to explode from traps to get involved from a tricky looking draw in trap

A CLASS APART

In the following race, Parchments Shark, trained by Kieran Lynch for Dermot Lehane, can send punters home happy.

He is no stranger to big performances around course and distance and he can deliver another front running effort in this. Out of luck on his most recent start, if he does things right in this, he should prove a class apart.

GO VERY CLOSE

Elsewhere on the card, Ballycowen Jay is the pick in race number six.

The Dean Harpur trained runner has plenty of pace and with a good start, he should go very close in this. It’s not the strongest of races for the grade and he’s the obvious selection in this.
