TIMMY NOLAN

Irish greyhound sport lost a great friend over the weekend with the passing of Timmy Nolan of Castleisland.

The man responsible for the famous “Silent” prefix, Timmy was involved in greyhounds for decades and tasted huge success on the track and up the field.

Known as a real gentleman, he will be greatly missed by those that knew him and leaves a lasting legacy on the sport. His son Tom now preserves the “Silent” name and only last year had a Derby finalist in the form of Glengar Silent, while he is also a prominent sponsor of greyhound racing.

We would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincerest condolences to the family of Timmy, his wife Mary, his children DD, Mary, Tom and Elaine, sons-in-law Mike and Ruairi, daughter-in-law Trish, his beloved grandchildren Marc, Jack, Aaron, Sarah, Molly, Amy and Tim, his in-laws  Connie and Margaret, extended familyand many friends.

May He Rest In Peace.
