The sport lost another true gentleman in recent days at the sad passing of Tom Flanagan, Russa, Ennistymon, Co. Clare
Tom has been a longtime enthusiast for the sport and was an ever-present at Galway Greyhound Stadium, where he spent time with what’s been described as his ‘Greyhound Family’.
Tom will be sincerely missed by all who knew him within the sport and condolences are passed on to his Family and friends.

Tom Flanagan, Russa, Ennistymon, following a courageous battle with ill health, peacefully passed into eternity, surrounded by his heartbroken family on Tuesday 3rd June, 2025. Predeceased by his parents Tom & Nóra, daughter Fidelma, son Conor, daughter-in-law Jackie, infant siblings, brother Peter, sister Mary (Deely) and all the deceased members of the Flanagan, Keane and Collins families.
Deeply regretted by his wife Stella (née Collins), daughter Ann Marie, son Brian, son-in-law Derek, grandchildren Megan, Ryan & Robert. Sadly missed by his sisters Nora, Dolores, Anne and Róisin, brothers Michael & John, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends, particularly Tom’s ‘Greyhound Family’ for which he was devoted to.
Reposing at the Cullinan and Nestor Funeral Home, Ennistymon (V95XH99) on Friday 6th June, from 6pm to 8pm. Arriving at Clouna Church, Ennistymon on Saturday 7th June, for 2pm Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the new cemetery, Ennistymon.
