Pat Malone will be hoping to record a double at Dundalk this evening with his promising stars Shelone Verde and Shelone Boss both holding obvious chances in the semi-finals of the feature, the Track Supporters Club A3 525.
After playing a starring role in the opening round, Shelone Verde is a confident choice to come home in front in the first heat. Pat Malone really does have his string purring at present and Shelone Verde is clearly a youngster with a bright future.
He got loose early last week to win in 28.70 and a repeat of that form would almost certainly suffice. Of his rivals, Ravenswood Boss is the obvious danger from an ideal draw on the fence but Shelone Verde can race to another impressive victory.
BOSS TO BOSS MATTERS
His kennel companion Shelone Boss is the only seeded runner in the second heat and will wear the stripes of six.
He stayed on well to overcome early traffic last week in a 28.97 success and could go even faster with a clear passage. That might be enough to see off the likes of Lisa Lashes and Denied Access, both of which are well drawn on the inside of the track.
Tonight’s canine action at Dundalk will get underway at 8.50pm, some twenty minutes after the final race on the horseracing card.
