WARRIOR A WINNING SIRE

    Ian Fortune

2022 Derby champion Born Warrior is a winning sire after the heroics of his very promising daughter The Other Robyn.

She actually opened her account ten days ago, finishing well to win her second career start at Thurles in 29.44 before following up at Clonmel on Friday just gone.

You would think that being a daughter of Born Warrior she would be blessed with early speed but this lady looks a real stayer in the making. She absolutely took of from halfway on Friday night to put over ten lengths between herself and her nearest rival when stopping the cock in 28.72.

There were a couple of faster times on the card but none got close to matching her clock from the third bend to the winning line. Coming home in 12.24, she would have entered many notebooks. The stamina clearly came from her wonderful dam line with The Other Razl tracing back to the likes of Liam Dowling’s greatest broods, Ballymac Razl and Blonde Returns.

It’s also great news for Born Warrior and we look forward to seeing more of his progeny hit the track in the coming weeks and months. No doubt a few will be seen scorching to the turn, much like their brilliant sire.
