Droopys Hottie appreciated the step up to 575yds at Newbridge on Friday night as she claimed the final of the NTSC A2/A3 Tri-Distance in good style for Donie Brennan.
Droopys Type was expected to start favourite but he was a non-runner with his place going to Freffans Bond, leaving Kilgarran Holly to start the even money favourite. Droopys Hottie was available at 7-2 despite showing promise in her short career and her backers would have been in clover when she broke fastest to hold the lead into the bend.
The strong running daughter of Dromana Bucko and Droopys Dance was always going to take some catching. Bluey took up the chase off the second turn but Droopys Hottie moved with real purpose throughout to emerge a comfortable two length scorer in 31.51. Bluey was second with Tinnock Shen another two lengths away in third.
